Events in the British Isles in 2024, 2025 and 2026
Across the British Isles, there are multiple days when you can celebrate various events. Just as in mainland UK, there are several events that are similar, including New Year’s Eve, Christmas, and the various Easter holidays. However, these are not always as religious as they used to be and are more about having fun. However, many of these islands like Jersey and Guernsey, also have a wealth of festivals and fairs featuring art and culture from both England and France. This makes these events a little unique when compared to other celebrations in the UK.

For instance, Jersey is a country packed full of fairs. From May to December, visit the Bouan Appétit!, an exhibition celebrating Jersey’s farming, fishing and food. Unsurprisingly, Jersey also has several regattas throughout the year, encouraging sailing around the island to the excitement of everybody. Guernsey also has various regattas and flower shows similar to Jersey, many of which take place in May. Some notable events include the Spring Walking Festival where visitors can discover the island on foot, or Liberation Day when the Channel Islands were freed from Nazi occupation. Both islands have an interesting mix of Anglo-French culture, with some Portuguese, specifically Madeiran culture, thrown in too.
